Aaron Paul, one of the stars breaking Badsaid that despite the show’s continued popularity on Netflix, he doesn’t see any remaining payments from those streamers.
Paul broke the news while walking the picket line amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike against studios and streaming services, saying he believes it’s time for Netflix to pay its talent properly.
“I don’t get anything from Netflix breaking Bad It’s crazy to me, honestly,” he said. “Shows have been on these streamers forever, and forever. …I think a lot of streamers know that they haven’t been paying people their fair wages, and it’s time to pay the price. “

The fact that one of the stars of arguably one of the biggest shows on TV (and certainly one of the most hilarious) of the past decade isn’t getting paid for its continued streaming raises questions : Who benefits economically.
ten years ago, breaking Bad is the most popular show on Netflix, and despite dropping out of the top 10, it’s still hugely popular with viewers, according to the company. Ironically, Netflix introduced it to its streaming platform while the show was still airing on its original network, AMC, thereby boosting the show’s overall popularity somewhat.
After the show began airing, the show’s popularity on AMC continued to grow over time, as opposed to the usual decline in the viewing experience for series. The season four finale drew just under 2 million viewers. Two years later, the show’s finale was watched by 10 million people.
(To be fair, AMC also hosts marathon shows, which also helps boost ratings.)
While Paul blamed Netflix for the lack of payments, he and his team breaking Bad The cast did reunite recently, urging Hollywood studios to resume talks with high-profile actors.Warner Bros. Discovery Channel adjusted its profit forecast on Monday, saying it assumed the financial impact of the strike would linger. at least until the end of this year.
Meanwhile, Netflix will stop streaming breaking Bad February 2025.
