apple is considering raising the price of its high-end iPhone Pro when it launches new models this fall, According to Bloomberg.
Apple typically releases new iPhones in September. Since 2019, the company has sold the high-end iPhone Pro in the U.S. starting at $999 and the Max model with a larger screen for at least $1,099.
Now, according to reports, Apple’s latest high-end models may raise prices, thereby boosting the company’s overall revenue by raising the average selling price of new iPhones.
Apple has held back on raising U.S. prices on new iPhone models amid the coronavirus pandemic, even as the company addressed parts shortages and said inflation was raising the cost of some services like shipping and parts.
However, Apple does often adjust the prices of its global products, including last year’s iPhone 14 devices, in response to currency fluctuations.

New iPhones may come with USB-C chargers instead of proprietary Lightning chargers after new European regulations passed last year. The new Pro model could reportedly feature a titanium case and thinner bezels To supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Higher prices could also help Apple capitalize on the latest trends in the smartphone industry. Overall smartphone shipments have continued to decline, and have been for a year, but consumers are still interested in the best, most expensive devices, analysts said.
“While the recovery in global smartphone demand has been weaker than expected, the high-end market (and Apple) appears to be less affected,” Deutsche Bank analyst Sidney Ho wrote in a note on Monday.
