Apple Pencil (2023) With USB Type-C Port Launched as Cheaper Alternative to Second-Generation Pencil

The company launched the Apple Pencil (2023) on Tuesday as an affordable alternative to the company’s second-generation Apple Pencil model. The new stylus has a matte finish and a flat edge that can be used to magnetically attach to the side of last year’s 10th-generation iPad, as well as other iPad models with a USB Type-C port, such as iPad Pro, iPad Air and iPad mini. Due to its lower price, the Apple Pencil (2023) misses out on some of the features available on the second-generation Apple Pencil. This includes support for pressure sensitivity and the ability to change tools with a double click. Also, unlike the Apple Pencil (2nd generation) models, you won’t get free engraving on the Apple Pencil (2023).

Apple Pencil (2023) is compatible with iPad Air (2020) and later, iPad mini (2021), 11- and 12-inch iPad Pro (2018) and later, and iPad (2022). According to Apple, the stylus supports Bluetooth and wired connection through the included USB Type-C port, measures 155×7.5 mm and weighs 20.5 grams.
