Apple will reportedly stop providing human assistance to users on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) and YouTube. Once the service is removed, users may receive an automated message on these platforms redirecting them to the help center. The report comes weeks ahead of the iPhone 15 launch.
According to MacRumors ReportCiting anonymous sources, Apple is ditching X, YouTube and Apple Support Communities The forum starts on October 1st. This means that users will no longer receive human responses to their questions on Weibo platforms and YouTube’s comment sections. Instead, they’ll receive an automatic reply redirecting them to other ways to connect with Apple Customer Support.
The report also suggests that Apple is offering chat support employees to fill phone-based support roles within the company. Apple’s move could affect hundreds of employees. Also, the company does not allow employees to transition to other chat-based support roles unless there is a medical issue, the report added.
In addition, the company will also provide training for employees on phone-based support roles, a process that could be completed by November, the report said. Apple started offering customer support on X/Twitter in 2016. The company shares tips on how to use Apple products and responds to user queries on the platform.
