Apple’s Magic Keyboard Revamp to Make New iPad Pro More Laptop-Like: Mark Gurman

Apple has reportedly been working on revamping its iPad Pro accessories, including the Magic Keyboard, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Meanwhile, the Cupertino-based tech giant is expected to launch two new iPad Pro versions in 2024 featuring the yet-to-be-announced M3 chip and OLED screens. The company has also previously reported that it is developing an updated model of the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro accessories. The iPad Pro is likely to receive its first major hardware upgrade in six years.

Mark Gurman in the September 3rd Power On newsletter famous Apple is working on a new Magic Keyboard that will debut next year alongside the company’s new iPad Pro models. The upcoming keyboard accessory will reportedly feature a larger trackpad, making it more Mac-like, but Gurman added that the makeover will be more thorough. For the first time, the top shell of the Magic Keyboard for iPad, or the area around the keyboard, will be made of aluminum to match current Mac laptops.

Gurman says the weight difference from switching to aluminum is negligible. If Apple decides to use more expensive materials, the cost of the accessory could increase. Currently, the Magic Keyboard for 11-inch iPad Pro is priced at Rs. 29,999, while the 12.9-inch iPad Pro is priced at Rs 29,999. 33,900.

Gurman noted that the updated Magic Keyboard for iPad will launch alongside the 2024 iPad Pro, which is expected to feature 11-inch and 13-inch OLED displays and could be released in the second half of this year. Gurman said in a report last week that Apple could launch a refreshed iPad Air or iPad mini model before launching a next-generation iPad Pro model.

The upcoming iPad Pro models (internal codenames J717, J718, J720, and J721) are likely to feature a so-called 3nm M3 chipset, which could offer better performance than the 4nm M2 SoC found in current-generation MacBooks, iPads, etc. Performance and efficiency and Mac models.
