Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC made its debut in India in April this year. Now, Asus seems to be turning its focus to the next phone in the series – the ROG Phone 8 Ultimate. While the release date remains a mystery, the upcoming ROG series smartphones appear to have appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking website. Asus ROG Phone 8 Ultimate is said to be powered by an eight-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC paired with 16GB of RAM. The listing reveals that the phone is running Android 14 operating system.

The listing is dated September 26 and is believed to be for the Asus ROG Phone 8 Ultimate, indicating that it may be powered by Android 14. The listing shows a single-core test score of 2,213 points and a multi-core test score of 7,048 points. According to the listing, the phone may come with 15.06GB of RAM, which can theoretically be converted to 16GB.
Additionally, according to the listing, the phone will be powered by an octa-core chipset codenamed Pineapple with a base frequency of 2.26GHz. It shows a main CPU core clocked at a maximum frequency of 3.19GHz, five cores clocked at a maximum frequency of 2.96GHz, and two cores clocked at a maximum frequency of 2.27GHz. These CPU speeds and codenames may be related to the unreleased Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The upcoming chipset will succeed last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which Qualcomm is expected to announce at the Snapdragon Summit 2023 event in October.
There isn’t much information about the Asus ROG Phone 8 Ultimate yet, but we can expect the phone to bring upgrades over the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate. The latter is priced at Rs. The 16GB RAM + 512GB storage model is priced at 99,999 in India.
