Cricket 24 Launches Globally; New India Edition PS5 Bundle Announced

Billed as “the most licensed cricket game ever”, Cricket 24 is now available on PlayStation and Xbox consoles (both current and older generation), as well as PC via Steam. Developer Big Ant Studios has also promised to port the game to Nintendo Switch, but it won’t be available until the end of November. It’s not far-fetched to assume that developer Big Ant Studios launches the game in time for the 2023 real-life ICC Cricket World Cup, which also kicks off today. As a result, we have had uneven product launches and Sony PlayStation is trying to capitalize on India’s love for the sport by launching a 24 Hours of Cricket themed PS5 bundle.

“We spent years signing contracts all over the world, from large enterprises to small businesses,” Big Ant Studios CEO Rory Simmons said in a developer diary. “It has a full calendar, so one minute you’re in the Caribbean. Play and then you play T20s in India and then you’re ready for the big bash – maybe a hundred games in the Ashes.” The wording he used in describing the tournament in India is noteworthy as the team never seemed to get License for the annual Indian Premier League (IPL), although similarities in the players and jerseys of teams like Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians are present throughout. The Ashes, the long-running Test series between England and Australia, is another big draw for Cricket 24, promising detailed cutscenes, press conferences and training sessions – all to immerse you in the action on the tour.

In addition to major events such as KFC BBL and Weber WBBL, the license also applies to 50 official stadiums and sports equipment with familiar brands. Of course, there’s also the career mode, where you chart the journey of a budding club cricketer, allowing them to hone their skills and become the next sensation on the international stage. It’s unclear how in-depth this mode will be, but Big Ant Studios claims players will have to expand their fan base and will be given more agency in how to balance Test matches and the MLS.

As part of the launch, PlayStation also launched a Cricket 24 PS5 bundle priced at Rs 100. 47,990 — Rs. It is 7,000 yuan cheaper than the retail price of the host in China. This introductory offer will be available from October 8 and will be available from leading online retailers such as Amazon, Croma, Flipkart, GamesTheShop, Reliance Digital, ShopatSC and Vijay Sales. However, the price is currently set at Rs. 57990, it is recommended to wait for the discount price. The bundle itself comes with a PS5 console with 4K Blu-ray, as well as a digital coupon code to download Cricket 24 (Indian version) and a DualSense controller. If you already own a PS5 or PS4 console, you can buy the digital version of the game for Rs 100. 4,399 from PlayStation Store.

Cricket 24 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X. The Nintendo Switch version is scheduled to launch at the end of November.
