Daredevil: Rebirth is reportedly undergoing a massive creative overhaul. According to The Hollywood Reporter, during the writers’ strike in mid-June, Marvel executives, including president Kevin Feige, reviewed footage of the soft reboot and concluded “the show wouldn’t work.” The effects were felt in September when the studio quietly fired head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman, as well as directors of 18 episodes each.As it turns out, the pair took a new direction Daredevilwhich pivots from Netflix’s violent origins to a legal courtroom procedural, with returning protagonist Charlie Cox not appearing in costume until episode 4.
It’s worth mentioning that only half of the first season was filmed, before the Hollywood strike, but that seemed to be enough for Feige to cancel production. The team is currently looking for a new writer and director for Daredevil: Rebirth, which will also see Cox reunite with Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher and Vincent D’Onofrio Starring Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.this Human Resources Report pointed out that Marvel as a whole is looking to realign their TV series development process by letting creators provide pilot episodes for approval, rather than spending more than $150 million (approximately Rs. 1,247 crore) on series immediately. “We’re trying to marry Marvel culture with traditional television culture,” Brad Winderbaum, head of streaming, television and animation at Marvel Studios, said in an interview. “It boils down to, ‘How do we tell stories on television that respect the greatness of the source material?'”
While Marvel’s drama series is off to a good start, with Emmy-nominated “WandaVision” and Loki, the series struggled to keep audiences interested in its new cast of superheroes and hollow story, hurting metrics. It now appears that in addition to ironing out any issues during post-production and reshoots, the studio is leaving executive producers to do the job rather than letting showrunners run the show. Regardless, Daredevil: Rebirth will still retain some recorded scenes, although a ton of changes are expected. Meanwhile, original writers O’Dea and Korman will remain on board as executive producers for two seasons.
It’s unclear whether the Disney+ reboot will follow the 1986 comic book of the same name created by Frank Miller, in which Matt Murdock’s former secretary Karen Page Karen Page) turned into a cash-strapped heroin addict and betrayed Daredevil’s identity. After learning this information, the ringleader used his influence to interfere in Murdoch’s personal life – closing his bank accounts and so on – and pushing him to the edge of insanity. There is currently no official plot synopsis for the series, and neither Deborah Ann Woll nor Elden Henson have been confirmed to be involved. They play Peggy and attorney Franklin “Foggy” Nelson in the Netflix original series.
Daredevil: Resurrection currently does not have a release window, but once it does, it should be available on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar.
