An ongoing cryptocurrency donation campaign dedicated to improving the lives of children around the world has received more than $7.6 million to date, half of which was donated in Ethereum (ETH).
HODL HODL by charity foundation Save the Children HOPE Activity It is still nearly $2.4 million short of the $10 million it plans to raise by the end of 2023. As of this writing, ETH accounts for 50% of the $7.6 million in cryptocurrency donations, or $3.83 million.
Bitcoin (BTC) donations accounted for 34% of the total cryptocurrency and were worth just over $2.6 million. USD Coin (USDC), a U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin issued by Circle, is the cryptocurrency community’s third-most preferred way to help children in need. USDC accounts for 7% of donations, or nearly $520,000.
The US dollar accounted for 2% of donations, followed by major altcoins including Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Tezos (XTZ), ThunderCore, Tether (USDT), Litecoin (LTC) and Solana (SOL).
The Own The Doge (DOG) and PleasrDAO communities currently dominate the donor rankings, donating 291.16 ETH, or over $1 million, to the cause. However, donors can remain anonymous and will not appear on the leaderboard.
As shown above, anonymous donors accounted for $3.9 million of the total campaign contributions.

The ease with which funds can flow across borders allows people to become more involved in donating to global causes. Recently, the Singapore Red Cross, a humanitarian aid and community services charity, began accepting cryptocurrency donations.
The Singapore Red Cross has partnered with Triple-A to begin accepting BTC, ETH, USDT and USDC. “By accepting digital currencies, we open the door to a new group of donors who are tech-savvy and want to contribute through digital assets,” said Singapore Red Cross Secretary-General and CEO Benjamin William.
