Labor Day marks the end of summer for Milwaukee Public Schools students, but their first day in class will be short-lived.
School systems are joining a growing number of cities and counties choosing to dismiss schools early because of the heat. Some schools will close at 11:00am and all schools will not be open for more than four hours.
All after-school activities are also cancelled.
