General Motors (GM) earnings Q3 2023

Detroit- General Motors The company is scheduled to report third-quarter earnings before the bell on Tuesday.

Wall Street expected the following, according to an average estimate compiled by London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG, formerly Refinitiv).

  • Adjusted earnings per share: $1.88
  • income: US$43.68 billion

These results would mark revenue growth of 4.3% from the year-earlier period, but earnings per share would be significantly lower.

GM has been dealing with an ongoing strike by UAW members after the union and the Detroit automaker failed to reach a temporary labor agreement covering 146,000 union workers by a Sept. 14 deadline.

UAW has been expanding GM shutdowns, Ford and star As the haggling continues. As of Monday, more than 40,000 UAW members at the automaker, or about 28% of UAW members covered by expiring contracts, were on strike.

Among Detroit automakers, General Motors currently has the smallest number of workers on strike, about 9,200. The UAW has not expanded its strike at GM since Sept. 29.

GM has previously said that the September shutdown caused a production loss of about $200 million.
