A special grand jury investigating interference in the 2020 U.S. presidential election in Georgia has recommended charges against several prominent Republican figures and Donald Trump allies, including U.S. Sen. Graham.

Other individuals who should be indicted for alleged involvement in a “national effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election” include two former Republican senators from Georgia, David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler, the panel said. Kelly Loeffler, and retired three-star general Michael Flynn. He later served as Trump’s national security adviser.

Graham, Perdue, Loeffler and Flynn ended up not being among the 19 that included Trump. Last month, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis filed a sweeping indictment against Trump over alleged interference in the 2020 election.

Other defendants charged in the Georgia case include former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani and Mark Meadows, the former president’s chief of staff during the election. Neither they nor Trump pleaded not guilty.

A special grand jury was called to investigate the aftermath of the vote as Trump and his allies scrambled to prevent Georgia from losing to Joe Biden.

The sprawling criminal case in Georgia is the fourth to be brought against Trump in recent months. He is also indicted for allegedly interfering with the election results of Jack Smith, the special counsel appointed by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland to investigate Trump.

Smith also accused Trump in a separate case of discovering classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate. Earlier this year, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg also accused Trump of allegedly paying hush money to pornographic actresses.

Loeffler’s organization Greater Georgia and Graham did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Perdue and Flynn could not immediately be reached for comment.

The report lays out the long list of individuals whom a special grand jury voted to recommend indicting in an investigation into the aftermath of the 2020 election. The list also includes attorney and high-profile Trump supporter Lin Wood, as well as attorney Cleta Mitchell, who joined the former president in calling Georgia’s top election official, Trump urged him on the phone to change the state’s count.

Willis ultimately did not sue Mitchell or Wood, who said he “was not involved in illegal activities to overturn the 2020 election.” Mitchell did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The special grand jury, which includes a total of 26 Fulton County residents, was recruited last year to investigate potential attempts to disrupt Georgia’s 2020 election. It has the authority to press charges against Willis, who then seeks an indictment from a regular grand jury.

The Special Team reportedly heard evidence from or involved 75 witnesses throughout the investigation. The jury said in February that some unnamed witnesses may have lied in their testimony and recommended that the district attorney pursue charges. Willis filed perjury charges against one of the defendants’ attorneys, Robert Chiley, in the final indictment.
