While many of Polygon’s validators are anonymous, Google Cloud joins the network of Deutsche Telekom, one of Europe’s largest telecommunications companies.
For its part, Google Cloud describes its relationship with Polygon Labs as an “ongoing strategic collaboration.” In addition to announcing that it will join the network as a validator, Google Cloud Asia Pacific also released a YouTube video titled “Polygon Labs is solving the future of Web3 for everyone.”
Polygon Labs recently launched the “Polygon 2.0” project to update the Polygon network. According to Cointelegraph, the current “Phase 0” includes three polygon improvement proposals, namely PIP 17-19.
PIP 17 involves the transition from MATIC to the new token POL, while PIP 18 and 19 address support work such as the technical description of POL and updating the Gas token. The changes are expected to begin happening in the fourth quarter of 2023, according to Polygon.
