
Google will reveal its next-generation smartphones — the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro — as well as new wearables on October 4. Previously, a well-known tipster leaked key specifications of the Pixel 8 series, leaving little to the imagination of smartphone enthusiasts. They are expected to run on the Tensor G3 SoC and feature a 10.5-megapixel selfie camera along with an IP68 water-resistant build. The Pixel 8 is said to have a 6.2-inch display, while the Pixel 8 Pro is said to have a 6.7-inch screen. New sources also confirm previous leaks.

The Pixel 8 series is expected to bear some similarities to last year’s Pixel 7 and Pixel 7a. According to the poster, the upcoming phone will run on the new Tensor G3 chip.
The Pixel 8 is expected to feature a 6.2-inch Actua display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Pro model is said to feature a 6.7-inch Super Actua display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The regular model is expected to feature dual rear camera units, including a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with autofocus and offering up to 8x SuperRes zoom. In comparison, the Pixel 8 Pro is said to feature a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 48-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and another 48-megapixel sensor with 5x optical zoom Telephoto camera. Both models are said to feature a new 10.5-megapixel front camera sensor.
The Google Pixel 8 series is said to offer fast charging and is said to offer up to 24 hours of battery life on a single charge. They will offer an in-display fingerprint sensor and support face unlock for biometric authentication. The Pixel 8 Pro is also expected to come with a thermometer. Like the Pixel 7 series devices, the upcoming models also feature IP68 dust and water resistance.
The Google Pixel 8 series hardware launch event is scheduled to be held on October 4 at 10:00 am local time (7:30 pm US Standard Time). Google’s Pixel Watch 2 will also make its debut during the “Made by Google” event.
