Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro were launched in India and global markets on Wednesday. At the company’s annual Made by Google hardware event, the company unveiled two new flagship smartphones as successors to the Pixel 7 series launched last year. Google’s phones are also more expensive than their predecessors this year, but customers can take advantage of bank discounts and offers to lower the prices of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
Pixel 8 is priced in India at Rs. The Pixel 8 Pro is priced at Rs 75,999; 1,06,999. This represents a price increase of 26.6% and 25.8% respectively for the two phones – Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are priced at Rs. 59,999 at the launch price of Rs 84,999. The Pixel 8 phone is now available for pre-order on Flipkart.

Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro specifications
Both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro run Android 14, powered by Google’s Tensor G3 chipset and Titan M2 security chip, and come with up to 12GB of RAM. The Pixel 8 is equipped with a 6.2-inch OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz, while the Pixel 8 Pro is equipped with a 6.7-inch OLED screen with a refresh rate of 1-120Hz.
Google revealed that both smartphones in the Pixel 8 series are equipped with a 50-megapixel main lens, while the Pixel 8 is equipped with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. Meanwhile, the Pro model is equipped with a 64-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 48-megapixel telephoto camera. Both phones have an 11-megapixel selfie camera housed in a center-aligned punch-hole display cutout.
The Pixel 8 is equipped with a 4,575mAh battery and supports 27W charging, while the Pixel 8 Pro is equipped with a 5,050mAh battery and supports 30W charging. The phones support facial recognition and come with an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometrics.
