Google’s Pixel 8 dual-core phone will be officially released on October 4 at the “Made by Google” event. Just a week before the event, a new leak has emerged hinting at a launch deal for the Pixel 8 Pro. According to reports, customers who pre-order the Pixel 8 Pro from Google are expected to receive a free Pixel Watch 2. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are expected to ship with Android 14 and 120Hz refresh rate displays. They are expected to run on Google’s new Tensor G3 SoC.
Tipster Camila (@Za_Raczke) leaked an official poster showing the price of the Pixel 8 Pro in the US. According to the poster, customers who pre-order the phone will receive a Pixel Watch 2 for free. However, there are currently no clues about Pixel 8 pre-order bonuses.
The Pixel 8 Pro is expected to be priced at $899 (approximately Rs. 74,800) in the US, while the regular Pixel 8 may be launched at $699 (approximately Rs. 51,800). Meanwhile, the first-generation Pixel Watch was priced at $349.99 (approximately Rs. 29,000) and speculation is rife that Google will retain a similar price tag for the upcoming Pixel Watch 2. If the rumors about the pricing of the new Google devices are true, getting both a Pixel Watch 2 and a Pixel 8 Pro would be a good deal for potential customers.
Google has announced that the Pixel 8 series launch event will be held in New York on October 4 at 10:00 am local time (7:30 pm IST). Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Buds Pro will also debut at the “Made by Google” event. Since then, the company has been actively teasing the smartphone through its social media accounts. In India, the phones are confirmed to be available for pre-order via Flipkart starting October 5.
The Pixel 8 series of smartphones are expected to run Android 14. The regular Pixel 8 is expected to feature a 6.17-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Pro model is said to feature a 6.71-inch LTPO OLED screen with QHD resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. They are expected to be powered by the Tensor G3 SoC. They are said to come in two RAM options – 8GB, 12GB – and two storage options – 128GB, 256GB RAM. The Pixel 8 Pro is expected to be equipped with a 4,950mAh battery and support 27W wired fast charging. At the same time, Pixel 8 may be equipped with a 4,485mAh battery that supports 24W wired charging and 12W wireless charging.
