Google Pixel 8a With Curved Edges, Dual Rear Cameras Spotted in Leaked Renders

The Google Pixel 8a was spotted in a set of renders leaked online, just days after the company announced this year’s flagship phones, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Leaked renders reveal that the phone will feature a 6.1-inch flat display. The phone also features the same raised horizontal camera header as Google’s current-generation Pixel models. According to information circulating on the Internet, Pixel 8a is likely to be larger than Pixel 8.

Detailed renders of the Pixel 8a have been leaked by tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (X: @OnLeaks) cooperate with Intelligence Award. Leaked renders show that the Pixel 8a colorway looks very similar to the rose color on the Pixel 8, which debuted at the company’s Made by Google 2023 hardware event last week. The front and back of the phone also look similar to the standard model, but the Pixel 8a’s bezels appear slightly larger.

According to the details leaked by the tipster, the dimensions of Pixel 8a are 152.1 x 72.6 x 8.9mm. This suggests that the Pixel 7a successor will be 0.1mm, 0.3mm, and 0.1mm lower in height, width, and thickness respectively. According to leaked images, next year’s mid-range model may feature a more rounded design, unlike the Pixel 7a.

The rear panel of the Pixel 8a features a raised camera module that looks almost identical to the one on the Pixel 8. It features two rear cameras arranged on the left side, while an LED flash is placed on the right side. The back panel also includes the Google logo in the middle.

The tipster also shared an alleged 360-degree render of the Pixel 8a, which shows the phone will have a USB Type-C port at the bottom of the display, flanked by speaker grilles. The front of the phone has a center-aligned punch-hole cutout that houses the selfie camera and a slim earpiece for calls on top of the display.

There’s an antenna on the top edge of the phone that could be used for cellular connectivity or, as the publication notes, ultra-wideband (UWB) support. Sales of the Google Pixel 8 series smartphones in India are yet to begin, and the company has yet to announce plans for a mid-range version of its flagship smartphones, but we expect to know more about the Pixel 8a in a few months. Launching next year.
