GoPro Hero 12 Black Renders, Specifications Surface Online Ahead of Expected Launch

GoPro is reportedly planning to launch its next-generation action camera, the GoPro Hero 12 Black, in the market soon. The GoPro Hero 12 Black is said to debut as early as next month. Renders and expected specs of the device have also leaked online, hinting at the design and other key details. The successor to last year’s GoPro Hero 11 Black is said to have similar specs to its predecessor, including a 2.27-inch main display. It is also said to feature the same 1/1.9-inch sensor as the GoPro Hero 11 Black.

It is speculated that this action camera will feature a small upgrade compared to its predecessor. It also looks similar to the Hero 11 Black, but with slight changes. This year’s Hero 12 Black uses a dotted design around the display instead of an all-black bezel around the front display. The new action camera is said to be the same size as its predecessor.

In terms of specs, the upcoming GoPro Hero 12 Black is said to feature a 27-megapixel 1/1.9-inch sensor and support up to 5.3K 60fps video with HDR options. It may also offer 24.7MP video screenshots and support for shooting in 8-bit and 10-bit settings. Additionally, it is also expected to come with HyperSmooth 6.0 stabilization. It may feature a 2.27-inch main display and a 1.4-inch front display.

Additionally, the report suggests a larger 1,720mAh battery as part of the enduro package, which could provide up to 70 minutes of battery life at 5.3K (60fps). Other leaked details include HyperView, Horizon Lock, HyperSmooth AutoBoost, and more. The report also claims that the GoPro Hero 12 Black will be available starting September 13 at a price of EUR 449.99 (approximately Rs 40,600).

Launched last year, the GoPro Hero 11 Black features a 2.27-inch touchscreen on the back and a color LCD on the front for live previews. It is powered by GoPro’s GP2 processor. It has a larger 1/1.9-inch sensor with a native 8:7 aspect ratio.
