GoPro Max 2 in the Works as Successor to Company’s First 360-Degree Camera, CEO Confirms: What to Expect

Nearly four years after the company launched its first Max line of 360-degree action cameras, the GoPro Max 2 is confirmed to be in development. The company acknowledged that there has been a lot of interest in a successor to its popular Max camera, something GoPro competitors have capitalized on over the past few years. Unlike ordinary action cameras, 360-degree cameras allow you to capture video without pointing the camera in a specific direction. A patent application filed by the company last year also revealed plans for the company’s next-generation camera.

During the launch of the GoPro Hero 12 Black this week, CEO Nick Goodman confirmed that the company is working on a GoPro Max 2 successor. “There’s been a lot of interest in the next version of the Max. What I can confirm today is that it’s in development and it’s worth the wait,” Goodman said at the launch of the latest Hero-branded action camera, which adds Some notable upgrades.

The successor to the GoPro Max may support recording video at a higher resolution than the first-generation model, with the ability to shoot 5K video.
