Hall of Flame – Cointelegraph Magazine

“I live in Switzerland. I have a gun in my house. Anyone who shows up at my house with violent intent could be shot,” Schiffer warned of altcoin enthusiasts who sent her death threats online.

In an interview with Magazine, Heaver explained that she blamed the memecoin founder for fueling a crypto-twitter craze.

“I mean, these community leaders and altcoin leaders have so much responsibility on their shoulders. They encourage their followers to make threats and intimidate people,” Schiffer declared.

A well-known cryptocurrency lawyer in Dubai and Switzerland, Heaver has 41,200 followers — more than the average lawyer. Not quite as famous as your Buterins and Heilperns, but still pretty impressive considering her carefree approach to it:

“If they somehow cancel my event, I will continue to post on LinkedIn because I have a huge following on LinkedIn.”

A self-proclaimed Bitcoin guru, Heaver speaks at cryptocurrency conferences around the world. She said most of the threats she received online were because she warned people to avoid dangerous altcoins.

When coin founders are sued or face legal action, she unpacks the legalese and pours tea on her followers.

More recently, she was targeted by the Hex community following the lawsuit against founder Richard Heart.

“Someone sent death threats to my kids saying they knew which preschool they were going to,” she said.

Schiffer said she works with law enforcement to combat the memecoin scam project.

Before venturing into the cryptocurrency space in 2016, Heaver spent 13 years as an attorney in the oil and gas industry.

“I was the general counsel of the largest shipping group in the world, and I can’t do that anymore. I can’t sit on the board and listen to the crap of those companies.”

Schiffer explained that her colleagues couldn’t believe that she gave up her job as a well-paid lawyer to work in the crypto industry. She remembers them telling her it was full of “money launderers and drug dealers”.

What made Schiffer famous on Twitter?

About a year ago, Schiffer revived her old Twitter account, even though she had owned it for nearly a decade.

“I first started posting last July, even though my Twitter account is pretty old. I joined in 2014.”

“I made a conscious decision to post every day,” Schiffer said, though he didn’t expect to attract any followers.

She explained that while she takes her cryptocurrency work with “Middle Eastern and Eastern European governments” very seriously, Twitter is just a little bit of fun for her.

She thinks that might be why the online threats against her make the sender so angry — she just doesn’t care.

What type of content do you produce?

Heaver believes that the crypto community prefers fun and light content over all heavy content.

“Every time I post something very meaningful and very intelligent about the law and very meaningful analysis, I get two likes. I will post more funny content, make jokes, and really be myself .”

Bitcoin Getting Physical: Art or Digital Heresy?

Schiffer says her content is very cool, and she likes to dig into her interesting life, whether it’s shooting a rifle or hiking in Switzerland.

But every now and then, she’ll let you know about a recent message she’s given to someone or the government.

What type of content do you like?

Schiffer revealed that her tweets are a mix of “bitcoin-only” accounts and various political commentators.

She explained that she finds political commentary more interesting than tracking cryptocurrency prices. She asserts that broader political decisions mean more in the long run than a token rising 1,000x.

“I follow a lot of political commentary. It’s actually more interesting to me than which coin is doing what, because it doesn’t really matter which coin does what to the maximum extent. What matters is the political direction.”

She especially likes the content of Swan Bitcoin corey clipston, Bitcoin Archives and Elon Musk (parody) account.

Heaver’s Predictions for Major Exchanges

As for the SEC’s ongoing lawsuit against Binance and Coinbase, Heaver expects the companies “will settle without admitting any wrongdoing, and the SEC will not interfere with them.”

Heaver revealed that this stems from her “inside knowledge” of how the SEC works that she gained while working in the oil and gas industry.

She recalls working with a Swiss company with operations in the Middle East that caught the attention of U.S. regulators.

Schiffer explained that “the SEC and DOJ decided they had jurisdiction over this company” and essentially went after them for seven years.

The result was a $250 million settlement, and the company denies any wrongdoing. Schiffer emphasized that this is a very sweet payday for regulators:

“That’s how they get their budget. That’s how they get money to pay wages and God knows what Christmas bonuses are.”
