Honor Magic V2 Lite, Honor Magic V2 Slim Might Launch at IFA in September, More Foldables in the Works

Honor will deliver a keynote speech at IFA (Internationale Funk Ausstellung Berlin) on September 1st. Honor Magic V2 will make its global debut at this event, which is highly anticipated. Now, some sources claim that more foldable devices may be showcased at the annual show, including the Magic V2 Lite and the Honor Magic V2 Slim. Honor, a former subsidiary of Huawei, is expected to release the Honor Magic V2 Lite (or Chinese Youth Edition), a low-key version of the Honor Magic V2, which was officially launched in China in July. It might be powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

Several whistleblowers on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo (pass naughty robot) suggestion Honor Magic V2 Lite and Honor Magic V2 Slim will be officially listed during IFA in the first week of September.

A tipster named Wangzi claims that the Honor Magic V2 Lite aka Honor Magic V2 Youth Edition will run the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and will be priced around CNY 5,000 (roughly Rs. 56,000). It is said to be positioned below the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 powered Honor Magic V2.

Another tipper on X @RODENT950 (formerly Twitter) release Honor Magic V Slim is coming soon. It is speculated that it will feature a thin structure, a vertical hinge, and an outward folding design. It was reportedly certified by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and codenamed “Victoria.” Honor’s first clamshell foldable phone, the Honor Magic V Flip, is also said to be in development. The whistleblower also mentioned Magic 6, Magic 6 Pro, Magic 6 Ultimate and Magic OS 8.0.

Honor has so far not released any details about its upcoming foldable phone. Therefore, it is advisable to take these details with a grain of salt.

The Honor Magic V2 was launched in China in July, priced at CNY 8,999 (roughly Rs 1,03,000) for the base 16GB RAM + 256GB variant. It features a 7.92-inch full HD+ (2,344×2,156 pixels) LTPO OLED in-display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It has a 6.43-inch full HD+ (1,060×2,376 pixels) LTPO outer panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of built-in storage. It has a triple rear camera unit dominated by a 50-megapixel primary sensor. For selfies, there’s a 16-megapixel shooter on the front. The foldable device packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports the company’s 66W charging technology.
