HyperOS – the successor to Xiaomi’s MIUI Android skin – has been leaked online ahead of its debut. The Chinese smartphone maker has confirmed that a new operating system (OS) skin will be released alongside the Xiaomi Mi 14 series, amid rumors that the company will launch its latest flagship phone at the end of this month. Now, users on Chinese microblogging site Weibo have shared several images of the upcoming HyperOS skin, showcasing various aspects of the user interface.

The first image shows the weather app UI, showing the temperature in the upper left corner of the screen and the temperature range in the forecast section at the bottom of the screen. The calendar app has been updated with a square design with rounded corners for the tiles in the month layout.
Xiaomi’s MIUI provides a control center with a quick switching function, which is somewhat similar to Apple’s control center on iOS. The new HyperOS will also provide a similar interface. The brightness and volume sliders, as well as the embedded Now Playing widget, look very similar to those on iOS 17, with just a slightly tweaked layout. Wi-Fi and mobile data toggles are at the top, while the lower half of the screen has multiple quick settings toggles.
HyperOS’s home screen features two square widgets that display the time and weather, with the name of the app underneath – another design element that appears to be inspired by Apple’s operating system.

Another image shows the new lock screen personalization feature – Android 14 also introduces new lock screen customization options on Google Pixel phones. Judging from screenshots shared by Weibo users, it appears that HyperOS will allow users to customize font and color options by clicking on different lock screen elements.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has confirmed that the new HyperOS operating system skin will be launched on the Xiaomi 14 series of smartphones. The new phones are rumored to debut on October 27, but a launch date has yet to be announced. In the days leading up to the expected launch date, we’re expected to learn more about the operating system and which phones it will debut on.
