
Inferno Drainer, one of the most popular crypto wallet draining tools that helped phishing scammers steal nearly $70 million worth of cryptocurrency this year, says it will permanently shut down.
In a telegram of November 26 postal, the team behind “Inferno Drainer” said, “It’s time for us to move on.” However, it said that the files and infrastructure required to run the wallet drain program will not be destroyed and will remain active so that users can make a “smooth transition” to other services.
“It has been a long journey with all of you and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts (sic). Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever.”
“A huge thank you (sic) to everyone who worked with us,” it added. “We hope you’ll remember us as the best drainers ever made, and that we successfully helped you make money.”

Inferno Drainer gained traction at the beginning of the year and saw increased usage after the popular Monkey Drainer tool was shut down. Like its peers, Inferno offers crypto wallet draining software and takes a 20% commission from what users steal.
According to statistics, Inferno Drainer has stolen nearly $70 million from more than 100,000 victims since February analyze From Web3 anti-fraud platform Scam Sniffer. However, the Inferno Drainer team says that more than $80 million was stolen.
The Inferno Drainer team has removed the affiliated Telegram account “mr_inferno_drainer” used to arrange its services and warned its users not to trust other drainers using its name in the future.

Blockchain security firm CertiK told Cointelegraph that Inferno Drainer is “one of the most community-damaging phishing kits we have ever seen.”
It added that there are still “a large number of providers” active, including competitors Pink Drainer and Angel Drainer, the latter of which released an update on November 25 to help users drain their wallets on more blockchains.
Monkey Drainer, another high-profile cryptocurrency drain tool that stole millions of dollars, shut down in March, saying it was “time to move on to better things.”
