The ticker symbol for Invesco and Galaxy’s spot Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded fund (ETF) – BTCO – has appeared on the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) website.
According to web archiver WayBack Machine, no Checklist The ticker BTCO appeared on October 25, which means the ETF was added to the list at some point in the past six days.
It is important to note that adding code to the “ETF Products” list on the DTCC website in no way guarantees future approval of a specific product.
A DTCC spokesperson said adding securities to the NSCC securities qualification document is standard practice “in preparation for the launch of new ETFs into the market.”
“Appearance on the list does not indicate the outcome of any outstanding regulatory or other approval process,” the spokesperson added.
