Apple’s iPhone 15 series is still new to the market, but rumors about next year’s iPhone 16 series have already begun. Although the phones are still a year away from release, a new report suggests that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will have displays that are 0.2 inches larger than the iPhone 15 Pro models. They can package Qualcomm’s latest cellular modems to improve 5G performance. It is said that Apple will retain the Snapdragon X70 modem in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. Additionally, the Pro model is said to offer Wi-Fi 7 connectivity and may feature a new ultra-wide-angle lens on the rear.
according to a Report 9to5Mac quoted Haitong International Securities technology analyst Jeff Pu as saying that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models launched in 2024 will use display sizes of approximately 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches respectively. If this rumor is true, this will be a major upgrade in screen size for the upcoming iPhone 15 models. Pu confirmed that they will use Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon X75 cellular modem to achieve faster and more efficient 5G connections.
Analysts say that the regular iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will continue to use the Snapdragon X70 modem. The latest iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max all have built-in Snapdragon X70 modem. Likewise, iPhone 16 Pro models will reportedly offer Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, while the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are said to be upgraded to Wi-Fi 6E. This year’s Pro model supports Wi-Fi 6E.
In addition, Jeff Pu added that both iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models will be equipped with 12-megapixel quad-prism lenses to achieve better zoom effects. The Pro series is also said to include an updated ultra-wide-angle lens. Pu added that Apple will equip the Pro model with a new 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. This is a noteworthy upgrade to the iPhone 15 Pro’s 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.
According to Pu, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be equipped with the A18 Pro Bionic chip based on the 3nm process, while the regular iPhone 16 models will be equipped with a watered-down version of the A17 Pro chip. Pu pointed out that for the regular iPhone 16, Apple will have two rear camera sensors without optical zoom.
Jeff Pu’s speculation is consistent with past reports. DSCC analyst Ross Young also believed in early May that the iPhone 16 Pro models would receive a screen size update.
Apple launched the iPhone 15 series at its Wonderlust event last month. iPhone 15 Pro price starts at Rs. The base 128GB storage model is priced at Rs 1,39,900 in India, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max starts at Rs 1,39,900. 1,59,900. They are currently for sale in the country.
