Pune-based developer SuperGaming has confirmed that its upcoming battle royale title Indus will be in closed beta this festive/Diwali season. To celebrate, the studio released a trailer that showcases the main operator in the game, along with some clues about consumables. The number of keys for the closed beta is limited, and the only way to ensure access is to pre-register with Indus on the Google Play Store. Yes, an Apple iOS release is imminent, but it appears that the first beta period (similar to an internal playtest) is currently only for the larger Android player base.
The Indus closed beta footage throws our key operators into a floating map of Virlok as they vie for control of Cosmium, a rare natural mineral that canonically alter space and time. However, its significance in the game is that claiming it instantly grants the player victory regardless of how many other survivors are left on the battlefield.Interestingly, it has some familiar voices, including Olympic pistol shooter Heena Sidhu, popular content creator magnetic play and player fleetand leading gaming YouTuber technical playerThe last one also collaborated with SuperGaming on Battle Stars, bringing a skin similar to his to the game.
Roby John, founder and CEO of SuperGaming, said in a prepared statement: “The Indus closed beta trailer is a great example of what we’ve done by incorporating ideal real-life icons from culture, sports and content creation. to showcase the Indian gaming industry.” “With more than 5 million pre-registrations to date and the support of the community, we firmly believe that Indus is at the forefront of the gaming revolution in India.” While the Indus trailer is mostly cutscenes, We could glean a ton of mechanics from what was shown, starting with a resurrection syringe that can be used on downed teammates–similar to Warzone’s resurrection kit.
As mentioned before, the Cosmium, which guarantees victory, will spawn randomly across the map, but it’s not just a matter of arriving on time and grabbing it. It seems that the minerals first come into contact with the ground sealed inside the care package, which takes some time to unlock. That means its location will be a hotspot for players to fight until they’re skilled (or lucky) in time to capture it.
Other clues reveal consumables like smoke grenades, which can be used as cover so you can stab blind players from behind. While a cutscene does show the peacock-themed operator Mor-Ni smoothly performing these maneuvers, it’s unclear if you’ll see a similar animation in-game. As our hero makes his way to the activated universe, the slender Taj Mahal pops up out of nowhere and hurls an explosive grenade. All these actions were observed by the leader of the Star Corporation COVEN, who ordered more Mythwalkers to extract the minerals.
Indus pre-registration is now available at Google Play. For more details on the closed beta key drop, I suggest you join Indus official discord.
