According to a recent poll According to Pantera Capital, Web3 engineer salaries are highest in North America at $166,610, followed by Europe, the Middle East and Africa at $102,226, Latin America at $90,559, and Asia Pacific at $75,000. The survey covered more than 1,600 respondents from 77 countries; 40.1% of respondents are engaged in the decentralized finance (DeFi) field, followed by centralized finance (26.1%) and blockchain infrastructure (15.2%) .
Less than 2% of developers surveyed said they work full-time in a physical office space, while 10.6% said they work in a hybrid in-person/remote work environment. The remaining 87.8% said their work was entirely remote.
In the United States, junior and mid-level Web3 developer salaries have dropped 4-8% over the past year to between $110,000 and $150,000. Meanwhile, senior developer salaries increased 1.5% during the same period, to $192,585.
Salary levels are also similar for finance, business development and product operations positions. Web3 marketing and operations specialists are among the lowest paid, with entry-level positions in this category earning less than $66,000. As for Web3 executives, starting salaries in the United States range from $147,363 for seed startups to $335,400 for companies beyond Series C funding. 97% of respondents are paid in fiat currencies, with the remainder choosing to be paid in cryptocurrencies.

In addition to regular compensation, one-fifth of respondents said they received an average token incentive package of $50,000 from seed companies, while Series C+ companies received token incentive packages of $130,000. Such token incentives typically have vesting schedules that last more than four years. Pantera data will be updated every six months, the company said.
