Meta Chief Mark Zuckerberg Comments on Threads About Cage-Fight Against X’s Head Elon Musk

Meta co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted on Threads Monday his “cage fight” with X (formerly Twitter) owner Elon Musk.

The development comes as Musk said on Sunday that his potential face-to-face fight with Mark Zuckerberg would be live-streamed on his social media site X.

Zuckerberg shared a screenshot of Musk’s X post on Threads, saying: “Shouldn’t we use a more reliable platform that can actually raise money for charity?” Regarding Musk’s post about preparing for the competition, Zuckerberg replied on Threads, “I’m ready for today. I suggested that he challenge the first time on August 26, but he hasn’t confirmed yet.” “I’m not holding my breath,” the Meta executive added .

The two tech billionaires allegedly agreed to a “cage match” at the end of June.

Zuckerberg trained in mixed martial arts (MMA) and was recently promoted to a blue belt in both martial arts and the combat sport jiu-jitsu in Brazil.

In a Monday morning post, Musk said he would choose the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) format for the match.

“I make @WWE my fighting style,” said the Tesla CEO and richest man on Earth.

The banter between Musk and Zuckerberg drew attention on social media, especially after Zuckerberg launched Threads, which was seen as a competitor to Musk’s Twitter (now X).

It all started when Musk, the owner of X, responded to a tweet about Meta preparing to release so-called “Twitter killer” Threads.

He quipped that the world was “totally controlled by Zuck, no choice,” but then a Twitter user jokingly warned Musk that Zuckerberg was training in jiu-jitsu.

“I love sports and no matter what happens here, I will continue to compete with the people I train,” Zuckerberg said in a Threads post on Monday. Indeed, since the social media giant launched a Twitter competitor last month, , Meta executives have been using Threads extensively to share updates.

It remains to be seen whether the two social media owners will actually make it to the ring in Las Vegas, thanks to Musk’s record of tweeting prematurely about actions, or lack of action.
