Mortal Kombat 1 Debuts Omni-Man, First Post-Launch Character from Robert Kirkman’s Comic Book Invincible. NetherRealm Studios released a trailer for the game during the 2023 New York Comic Con event, showcasing a series of brutal action taken directly from the adaptation of the animated series of the same name on Amazon Prime Video. The villain will launch as a standalone fighter in November, available to players who purchase the game’s Premium Edition or the Kombat Pack DLC separately. Actor JK Simmons will also continue to play the role of Omni-Man and provide his voice in “Mortal Kombat 1”.
While the Mortal Kombat franchise is known for major crossovers, this time around, NetherRealm Studios is using multiple shenanigans to explain the new comic book characters included in the DLC. The Almighty appears to have slipped into a new timeline created by Fire God Liu Kang, and as a result, we saw the two confront each other in the gameplay trailer. Despite his arrogant demeanor and slow pace, Omni-Man quickly established himself with incredible strength, managing to easily swing his opponents around with one hand before pinning them down with a brutal finishing blow and Repeatedly punching them in the face resulted in a crushing defeat. A bath of blood—and then violently crack open their skulls. There’s another where he holds Liu Kang’s head until his eyes bulge bloody.

He reveals his plans to found the empire of Viltrum (the alien planet he comes from) by dragging Scorpion onto the subway line. If you’ve seen Invincible, you know what happens next – Omni-Man uses his opponent’s body as a shield against an oncoming train, while iron bars and torn metal continue to be sliced from his opponent’s body Chunks, almost like a grater. Through it all, Almighty Man’s violent exterior never fades, which makes this seem like a faithful entertainment. The Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay trailer also revealed Tremor, a ninja who honed the power of the earth element and serves as Omni-Man’s Cameo (support) warrior. He can be seen transforming his arms into solid boulders and crushing enemies, or sometimes emerging from beneath the surface to catch them off guard.
As mentioned, the Mighty Warrior is part of a Mortal Kombat 1 DLC add-on pack that also promises to bring a host of other fighters. Following the launch of Omni-Man and Tremor (Kameo) in November, NetherRealm has confirmed that we can expect the undead savant Quan Chi in Winter 2023/2024 and DC Comics’ Peacemaker in The Boys in Spring 2024 Drive Ermac and the evil Homelander, as well as Scorpion student Takeda Takahashi in the 2024 American summer. There are also expected to be some new Kameo fighters, although there’s no release window yet.Additionally, Prime Video has dropped trailer In Invincible Season 2, protagonist Mark Grayson/Invincible (played by Steven Yeun) struggles to rebuild his life amid fears that he might become as evil as his father, Omni-Man.
