Netflix’s annual Geek Week digital showcase is back, offering a peek at its upcoming projects. The virtual event will kick off on November 6th (Stranger Things Day) and run for a week until November 12th, including Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon, the live-action version of Avatar: The Last Air News and sneak peeks at highly anticipated projects like Zong. . In addition to the official Geeked Week website, the show can also be watched on Netflix’s YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook accounts. As streaming increasingly shifts into gaming, fans can expect some exciting developments on that front as well—presumably the ability to cloud stream games to their TVs.
The streamer has dropped portions of the schedule for each Geek Week show, which vary in length. We start with Stranger Things Day, my anticipated fifth and final season of the eponymous sci-fi series, which is still scheduled to be released in 2025 despite the ongoing actors’ strike in Hollywood. In the film, Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) is expected to play a major role, and our heroes will explore the history behind the parallel realm of the Upside Down Universe – the parallel from which the Demon Lord and the Mind Flayer originate. Born in the world. Netflix is also developing a “Stranger Things” animated series, which is said to be set after the main series and similar in style to cartoons from the 1980s. The company relies heavily on animated adaptations, promising new looks for Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft and the Devil May Cry series.
November 9, 1pm PT (US) — November 10, 2:30am IST — Netflix will bring The Umbrella Academy Season 4, The Dragon Prince and Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action series trailer. The studio just dropped the premiere of several Fire Nation characters, including Daniel Dae Kim (Stowaway) as Fire Lord Ozai, Dallas Liu as Prince Zuko, and Elizabeth Yu (May December) as Princess Azula. Nickelodeon original series creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael DiMartino served as executive producers and showrunners before exiting the project due to creative differences. My guess is that Netflix will adapt the first season of the anime-style series, just like they did with the live-action version of One Piece, the manga and the first animated series, Legend of the East Blue.Speaking of which, it looks like One Piece will also be a part of Geeked Week, as recently Renewed for second season.
November 10 brings more news about the live-action version of Yu Yu Hakusho, the popular psychic detective from Hunter x Hunter creator Yoshihiro Togashi, set to hit theaters on December 14 animation. Then there’s “3 Body Matters,” an adaptation of writer Liu Cixin’s book about a young woman’s fateful decisions in 1960s China that reverberate across time and space. It comes from the creators of “Game of Thrones” – David Benioff and DB Weiss – so many people’s eyes will be focused on this work. On November 11, we got more details on the long-gestating fantasy film starring Millie Bobby Brown, daughterAnd some exclusive footage to get ready for our upcoming Scott Pilgrim animation, launching on November 17th.
Snyder’s highly anticipated dystopian space opera Moon of Rebels will conclude its run on November 12 at 4:30 PM PT – November 13 at 6 AM (IST). This intergalactic adventure tells the story of Cora (Sofia Boutella), a mysterious young woman who embarks on a journey to find warriors from nearby planets to help fight against the oppressive empire led by Regent Barilon . For the uninitiated, the film is split into two parts, Part 1: Children of Fire is expected to be released on Netflix on December 22, and Part 2: The Circumcised will be released on April 19, 2024. During the interview, the director also promised additional explicit cuts for both parts as well. Keep in mind that the above titles are just the highlights and Netflix may have more surprises in store for us.
