Nokia G42 5G will go official in India next week. The Finnish phone maker confirmed via X (formerly Twitter) that the new 5G smartphone is available in the country. Nokia brand licensor HMD Global launched the Nokia G42 5G in select markets in June this year. It runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ SoC and has a triple rear camera unit led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor. The Nokia G42 5G is currently listed on Amazon India in So Gray and So Purple color options.

According to a teaser on Amazon, the Nokia G42 5G will run Android 13 and is guaranteed two years of Android OS upgrades and three years of monthly security updates. The phone features a 6.56-inch HD+ (720 x 1,612 pixels) LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It features an octa-core Snapdragon 480+ SoC paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. 5G phones also offer up to 5GB of additional virtual RAM.
The European variant of the Nokia G42 5G has a triple rear camera unit consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor and two 2-megapixel sensors. For selfies and video chats, there’s also an 8-megapixel sensor. It packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 20W wired fast charging.
The Nokia G42 5G has been confirmed to be manufactured in India and its back cover is said to be made from 65% recycled materials.
