
Nokia G42 5G will go official in India next week. While we await the official launch, the HMD Global licensee teased pricing for its new G-series smartphones via X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday (September 7). Additionally, Nokia has also launched new color options of the Nokia G42 5G in global markets outside of India. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ SoC and features a triple rear camera unit led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor. Nokia G42 5G has been confirmed to go on sale in the country via Amazon India.

The post lists two options Rs. 16,xxx and Rs. 18,xxx, indicating that the phone will be priced under Rs. 18,999. These two price points may also indicate that there are two memory variants.
The Nokia G42 5G is priced at EUR 199 (~Rs 20,800) in Europe for 6GB RAM + 128GB storage.
Additionally, the Nokia G42 5G has received A new So Pink color option is available in global markets outside of India. The new color variants will be available alongside gray and purple color options, which have been available in select global markets since the phone was first launched in June. Nokia is yet to confirm if the latest colorway will be available in India.

The Nokia G42 5G runs Android 13 and is confirmed to receive Android OS upgrades for two years and monthly security updates for the next three years. The phone features a 6.56-inch HD+ (720 x 1,612 pixels) LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. As mentioned, it runs on an octa-core Snapdragon 480+ SoC paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. 5G phones also offer up to 5GB of additional virtual RAM.
It has a triple rear camera unit consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor and two 2-megapixel sensors. It also includes an 8-megapixel selfie sensor. The Nokia G42 5G is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 20W wired fast charging.
