The Nokia G42 5G was launched in India today (September 11) as the latest 5G product from HMD Global, the licensee of the Nokia brand. Nokia’s new G-series smartphones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ SoC, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The Nokia G42 5G features a triple rear camera unit guided by a 50-megapixel primary sensor and is backed by a 5,000mAh battery. The Nokia G42 5G has been confirmed to be manufactured in India and will be available in the country via Amazon later this week. The phone was launched in select markets in June this year.

Nokia G42 5G is priced at Rs. 12,599 for the only 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model.Available in So Gray and So Purple, it will be available starting September 15th pass Amazon.

Nokia G42 5G specifications
The Nokia G42 5G runs Android 13 and is promised two years of Android OS upgrades and three years of monthly security updates. It features a 6.56-inch HD+ (720 x 1,612 pixels) LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 560 nits. The display also features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The 5G smartphone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 480+ SoC paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. Available RAM can actually be expanded to 11GB.
In terms of optics, the Nokia G42 5G features a triple rear camera unit that includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor and two 2-megapixel sensors. For selfies and video chats, there is an 8-megapixel sensor on the front.
Connectivity options on the Nokia G42 5G include 5G, GPS, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.1, and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax. It comes with an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, electronic compass, and proximity sensor. Additionally, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for authentication. The phone also has an IP52 rating, making it dust and water resistant.
The Nokia G42 5G is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and supports 20W wired fast charging. The battery is said to provide up to three days of playback time on a single charge. It measures 165×8.55×75.8mm and weighs 193.8 grams.
