Nothing Phone 2 Users Get a Taste of Android 14 With Nothing OS 2.5 Open Beta 1

Nothing launched Nothing OS 2.5 based on Android 14 on Wednesday. The company has listed the upgrades and new features that the update brings. Google released Android 14 for supported Pixel phones at the Made by Google event in early October alongside the Pixel 8 series of phones. The Open Beta 1 version of Nothing OS 2.5 is currently available to all Nothing Phone 2 users. Users are advised to back up their data before testing the new Beta operating system update on their phones.

The Android 14-based Nothing OS update brings more lock screen shortcut options, including Do Not Disturb, Silent, and a QR code scanner. It also gets an updated photo widget, a new screenshot editor, and the option to hide app icons on the home screen and app drawer.

Nothing Phone 2 users who choose to update to Nothing OS 2.5 Open Beta 1 can now take screenshots by swiping three fingers across the screen. They can also customize specific functions to work with double-clicking the power button. It has an improved home screen and lock screen customization page, as well as a new glass filter to match the wallpaper.
