OnePlus is ready to make its mark on the foldable phone market with the debut of the OnePlus Open. After teasing the smartphone in several reports, the company has finally announced the launch date. OnePlus Open will be launched in the Indian market next week in Mumbai. Before revealing the launch date, the company shared glimpses of the foldable product through various images and videos. As per previous reports, the OnePlus Open will be launched in two color options, namely Emerald Eclipse and Voyage Black.
In X (formerly Twitter) postal On Thursday, the company announced the OnePlus Open launch event and issued open invitations. The smartphone will be launched in Mumbai on October 19 at 7:30 pm (IST). With the release of this product, OnePlus will enter the field of foldable smartphones for the first time.
An earlier report teased a leaked OnePlus Open marketing image, which suggested that the smartphone’s internal display will feature a 7.82-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2,268 x 2,440 pixels, while the external display will feature 6.31-inch OLED screen, refresh rate 120Hz, resolution 1,116 x 2,484 pixels.
As mentioned above, the OnePlus Open is expected to debut in two color options, likely Emerald Eclipse and Voyage Black. In terms of optics, it is said to come with a triple-camera unit led by a 48-megapixel primary sensor with a wide-angle lens. It will be equipped with a 48-megapixel camera with an ultra-wide-angle lens and a 64-megapixel telephoto camera.
Another report suggests that the foldable device has appeared on the Geekbench certification website, hinting to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and 12GB of RAM. OnePlus Open is expected to run Android 13 operating system. It can be equipped with a 4,805mAh battery and supports 100W wired fast charging.
