The OnePlus Open was launched in India and global markets on Thursday as the company’s first foldable phone. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and features a 7.82-inch AMOLED internal screen and a 6.31-inch external screen. Both panels have a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. OnePlus Open is equipped with three Hasselblad-branded rear cameras, one of which is Sony’s next-generation LYTIA-T808 “pixel stacking” CMOS sensor. It has two selfie lenses and is equipped with a 4,800mAh battery that supports 67W charging.

According to the company, the OnePlus Open will be priced at EUR 1,799 (approximately Rs. 1,58,100) in Europe and pre-orders will start today, while the phone will be available on October 26 via OnePlus.com.

The dual-SIM (Nano) OnePlus Open is a foldable phone that runs Android 13-based OxygenOS 13.2. It features a 7.82-inch (2,268×2,440 pixels) 2K Flexi-fluid LTPO 3.0 AMOLED display with a 1-120Hz dynamic refresh rate, 240Hz touch response rate, and peak brightness of up to 2,800 nits. This display uses ultra-thin glass protective material and supports 1,440Hz pulse width modulation (PWM) dimming.

The OnePlus Open’s external screen is a 6.31-inch (1,116×2,484 pixels) 2K LTPO 3.0 Super Fluid AMOLED display with a 10-120Hz dynamic refresh rate, 240Hz touch response rate, and a peak brightness of up to 2,800 nits. According to the company, it features ceramic protective material. Both monitors have received TÜV Rheinland’s smart eye protection certification.

OnePlus has equipped this foldable phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and Adreno 740 GPU, paired with 16GB LPDDR5x RAM. The company said the available memory on the smartphone can be expanded in increments of 4GB, 8GB and 12GB by utilizing unused storage space on the phone.

For photos and videos, OnePlus comes with a Hasselblad-branded triple-camera setup. It has a 48-megapixel main camera equipped with a 1/1.43-inch Sony LYT-T808 “pixel stacking” CMOS sensor, with optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS), 85-degree field of view and f/1.7 aperture.

OnePlus Open also features a 64-megapixel telephoto lens with OmniVision OV64B sensor with OIS, EIS, 33.4-degree field of view, and f/2.6 aperture. It supports 3x optical zoom, 6x in-sensor zoom, and up to 120x digital zoom. It also features a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera (which doubles as a macro camera) and a Sony IMX581 sensor with EIS, 114-degree field of view, and f/2.2 aperture.

On the OnePlus Open’s internal display, you can see a 20-megapixel primary camera with EIS, 91-degree field of view, and f/2.2 aperture. The outer screen of the foldable phone is also equipped with a 32-megapixel lens with EIS, 88.5-degree field of view, and f/2.4 aperture for selfies and video chats.

OnePlus Open comes with 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. Connectivity options on the phone include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS/A-GPS, NFC, BeiDou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and USB Type-C port with USB 3.1 connectivity. It is equipped with a variety of sensors, including accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, sensor core, electronic compass, slide detection sensor and under-screen ambient light sensor.

This foldable phone is equipped with a dual-core 4,800mAh battery (3,295+1,510mAh) and supports 67W SuperVOOC charging. The phone comes with an 80W charger in the box. It features a three-state alert slider, which is also found on other flagship OnePlus phones. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication and also supports face unlock. The phone measures 153.4×143.15.9 mm when unfolded and 153.4×73.3×11.7 mm when folded, and weighs 245 grams.
