OnePlus Watch was launched in March 2021. The smartwatch later launched in limited edition models. It comes with a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass protection and is said to offer up to 14 days of battery life. The OnePlus Watch 2 is expected to succeed it, although the company has yet to officially announce this. However, a new leak has surfaced online, hinting at a release timeline for the so-called smart wearable device. The source also hinted at one of its key design elements.
Tipster Max Jambor (@MaxJmb) claimed in a statement postal On top of the X (formerly known as Twitter), the OnePlus Watch 2 could launch in 2024 and feature a circular display. According to the tipster, this is in line with the recent trend of OnePlus products, including the previous OnePlus Watch, with circular features. For example, the tipster pointed out that both the OnePlus 11 and the OnePlus Pad use circular rear camera modules.
In addition, the company’s upcoming foldable smartphone OnePlus Open is also expected to be equipped with a circular rear camera module. Leaked OnePlus 12 design renders also reveal that the phone will feature a circular camera module.
The OnePlus Watch 2 is likely to come with several upgrades over the previous model. OnePlus Watch runs a customized RTOS, and upcoming models may also run the same operating system.
The OnePlus Watch is available in Midnight Black and Moonlight Silver color options, as well as a Cobalt Limited Edition. It comes with a 402mAh battery and supports Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and Beidou connectivity options. It has an IP68 dust and water resistance rating and a 5ATM waterproof rating.
