Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Tipped to Feature New 200-Megapixel Sensor: All Details

Samsung launched the Galaxy S23 series earlier this year, with the high-end Galaxy S23 Ultra getting a lot of attention from Reviewers and users for its camera capabilities. The Galaxy S23 Ultra’s 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP2 sensor is a notable upgrade from the 108-megapixel sensor on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Now, we’re hearing that next year’s Galaxy S24 Ultra may also introduce further camera improvements. Despite having a 200-megapixel main camera, the Galaxy S24 Ultra could feature a new camera sensor. The Galaxy S24 series, including the regular Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra, is expected to be officially launched early next year.

In addition to the 200-megapixel main sensor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra could further improve its camera capabilities, with a new telephoto lens in particular. It is expected to feature a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

We’re still roughly six months away from the expected launch of the Galaxy S24 series, but the leaks keep coming. Samsung is speculated to ship the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in the Galaxy S24 Ultra in all markets, while the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ are expected to launch in select markets with the company’s in-house Exynos 2400 SoC. The Ultra model is said to come in 12GB RAM + 256GB and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage configurations.

It is also possible that Samsung will use a titanium frame in the Galaxy S24 series. The Galaxy S23 models feature an aluminum chassis. Additionally, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is also said to feature new EV battery technology for improved battery life.
