Samsung Galaxy SmartTag was launched in January 2021 at the Galaxy Unpacked event. The company has now announced the release of its successor, the Galaxy SmartTag2, which is scheduled to launch globally on October 11. It is said to have a battery life of up to 700 days, almost double that of previous Galaxy SmartTag models. It has a ring-shaped design and has an IP67 water and sun protection rating. Galaxy SmartTag2 operates within a range of 120 meters via Bluetooth connection.

Samsung launched the Galaxy SmartTag 2 on Thursday, more than two years after launching the Galaxy SmartTag. The new ring-shaped device will be released globally on October 11th. It claims to offer new tracking features over its predecessor. Smart tag devices can be used to check valuables or track your pets.

It has a new lost mode feature that allows users to add their contact information with the help of SMS. After finding a lost tag, item or lost pet, anyone can scan the Galaxy SmartTag2 and receive a message from the owner. This feature is available on all mobile devices equipped with NFC readers and web browsers.

The company has also made some updates to the compass view feature, making it easier to track directions with the help of permission. This feature can be accessed on any UWB-enabled Galaxy smartphone. Samsung has also improved its SmartThings Find app so users can add shortcuts to the app on their smartphones. It offers a full-screen map view and an enhanced interface.

In terms of battery, Galaxy SmartTag2 provides 700 days of battery life in power saving mode and 500 days of battery life in normal mode. This is twice the battery life of previous Galaxy SmartTag models. It has an IP67 water and dust resistance rating.
