Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 One-Click Straps Are Reportedly Compatible With Older Galaxy Watches

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic were launched at the Galaxy Unpacked event in South Korea last week. Samsung’s latest smartwatch is now available for pre-order in India. The flagship wearable features several upgrades over its predecessor, including a one-touch strap mechanism that allows users to attach or detach the strap from the smartwatch with just one click. The latest report also claims that these Galaxy Watch 6 bands are compatible with other older Galaxy watches as well.

According to SamMobile Report, the one-touch strap for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 series is also compatible with older Galaxy watches, including the Galaxy Watch 5 or Galaxy Watch 4 series. The report explains that the pins used to secure the new bands to the smartwatch are the same as the older bands, so they can also be easily attached to or removed from older Galaxy smartwatches. It’s worth noting that Samsung introduced buttons on the strap this year, whereas older bands featured tiny levers that users needed to slide to attach or remove the band to the smartwatch.

Additionally, the company has introduced fabric straps designed with Velcro loops to keep the strap in place. These bands feature one-touch functionality and are compatible with the Galaxy Watch 5 or Galaxy Watch 4 series.

The Galaxy Watch 6 series of smartwatches was launched last week alongside Samsung’s new foldable phone. The watches are powered by the in-house Exynos W930 SoC paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage. These wearables feature sapphire crystal AMOLED panels with always-on display (AOD) functionality.

The Galaxy Watch 6 comes in two sizes: 40 mm (1.3-inch display) and 44 mm (1.5-inch display). The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, on the other hand, comes in 43mm size with a 1.3-inch screen and 47mm size with a 1.5-inch panel.
