TradFi gets crypto boost: Renegade joins Cointelegraph Accelerator

As the cryptocurrency industry continues to develop, it is increasingly connected to traditional finance (TradFi), benefiting end users. TradFi is notoriously slow, inefficient and expensive. International wire transfers, which in most cases take days and double-digit dollar fees, are a perfect example of the current state of traditional finance.

In comparison, decentralized finance (DeFi) has the potential to provide similar services, including fund transfers, payments and storage, at faster speeds and at lower costs. However, most financial technology (fintech) applications offered by TradFi services win over users in terms of user experience and simplicity, making the adoption of unnecessarily complex and obscure DeFi applications limited.

Mainstream users need friendly experiences and easy-to-use applications to get into the decentralized space before becoming full-fledged cryptocurrency users. Likewise, DeFi users need a bridge to use their cryptocurrency funds in their daily lives. They seek a fintech solution that escapes the complexity, logic and expense of traditional financial services.

In addition to the standard TradFi experience including payment solutions, IBAN accounts and personal financial management, Renegade adds Web3 capabilities including non-custodial and custodial wallets, fiat on-ramp via Visa debit cards and cryptocurrency exchanges – bringing DeFi and TradFi spaces go together.

Renegade joined Cointelegraph Accelerator as a participant to benefit from the media reach and marketing opportunities provided by the program. Cointelegraph Accelerator chose Renegade because of the user experience the project developed for TradFi and DeFi users.

The platform aims to integrate with major payment services, including Apple Pay and Google Pay, by the end of the year. When its mobile app launches, Renegade will serve the TradFi needs of DeFi users while providing crypto and Web3 access to the fintech market, effectively bridging the two worlds.
