TVS X Electric Crossover Scooter Launched in India at Rs. 2.5 lakh: Details

TVS Motor Company has launched its premium electric crossover two-wheeler, the TVS X, targeting the millennials and Gen Zs in India and abroad. The launch price is Rs. The electric two-wheeler, worth Rs 250,000, is equipped with a high-performance battery pack with an installed capacity of 4.44kWh, an acceleration time of 0-40 km/h of 2.6 seconds, and a sustained top speed of 105 km/h.

The battery management system developed in-house by TVS Motor ensures safe operation and prolongs battery life by continuously monitoring current flow.

Customers can choose from a Smart X home fast charger that charges 0-50% in 50 minutes (optional additional 3 kW fast charger) or a portable charger that charges 0-80% in 4 hours 30 minutes (950W charger) .

“TVS X will be available at an exciting electric launch price of Rs 2,49,990 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), portable 950W charger at Rs 16,275 (inclusive of GST), and also a 3kW Smart X home fast charger option,” the company said. CEO KN Radhakrishnan said at a launch event in Dubai on Wednesday.

The TVS X is now open for pre-order on the company’s website and will be delivered in phases across 15 cities starting November 2023, he said, adding that the government’s FAME incentives are not applicable to the model.

Interacting with the media, Sudarshan Venu, Managing Director, TVS Motors said, “Our target customers are millennials and Gen Z. Venu also said that the company has invested Rs 250 crore as capital expenditure for the production of new models.

Responding to a question on exports, Vinu said that apart from selling in India, the company also plans to export the model to Bangladesh, Nepal, Europe and Latin America.

Equipped with the largest 10.2-inch HD+ TFT touchscreen in its class, the electric two-wheeler provides riders with navigation, music, video services, gaming options and more.
