WhatsApp beta, a test version of the company’s popular messaging app, has added a new feature in the latest update. Formerly known as audio chat, this feature allows users to start voice calls in groups. Meanwhile, a recent beta update also added support for sending messages to group admins for moderation, a feature that could help improve group management on the platform. These features are expected to roll out to users on the stable channel at a later date.
With the WhatsApp beta update to Android version 2.23.16.19, some beta testers will get a feature called voice chat, as follows: spot Courtesy of WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo. This feature changes the way audio calls are grouped by replacing the call icon with a wave icon. Clicking the icon will start a voice chat that other group members can join. However, unlike group voice calls, these voice chats won’t ring your phone—all group members will see a push notification.

Feature tracker shared several screenshots of the feature showing how it works in groups. Once a voice chat is initiated, group members can join and speak just like a regular audio call. According to WABetaInfo, idle calls will automatically close after an hour. WhatsApp’s existing call limits also appear to apply to voice chats — only 32 members can join at a time.
On the other hand, the Android 2.23.16.18 WhatsApp beta released over the weekend, It is said A new feature has been added designed to improve group moderation. WhatsApp has added a new toggle in the group settings section called Sent for admin review This will allow group members to send messages to group admins for moderation.

While users can currently report messages sent by other users to WhatsApp, the messaging service recently allowed group administrators to delete messages to improve moderation on the app. According to WABetaInfo, when the feature is enabled, users will be able to report specific messages sent to groups to administrators so they can be deleted. The feature can help admins catch messages they might have missed while away from their phones.
WhatsApp did not say when these features would be rolled out to all users on the app. After updating to the latest version of the app, Gadgets 360 was unable to confirm the existence of these two features. This suggests they could be enabled via a server-side update, and users who installed the latest beta may gain access to the feature in the coming days.
