WhatsApp Rolls Out Screen Sharing and Landscape Mode for Video Calls: All Details

WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature for its users. The social media platform owned by Meta now allows you to share your screen during video calls. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the feature via posts on his Facebook and Instagram profiles. The addition brings Meta’s plans to compete with traditional video conferencing platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Skype a step closer. This feature has been available to Android beta testers for a few weeks, but will now gradually roll out to all users worldwide.

in the image shared According to Zuckerberg, the interface of the new WhatsApp screen sharing feature looks similar to Google Meet or Zoom. The shared screen takes up most of the screen, while video call participants are shown in small rectangular tiles on the right side of the screen. You can share your screen by pressing the arrow icon indicating the “Share” option.

In addition to this feature, the Meta-owned social networking platform has also introduced landscape mode for video calls in addition to portrait mode. This makes screen sharing easier because it makes text and graphics more legible on smartphones, the most popular devices WhatsApp uses.

Meta says they’ve already started rolling out the feature on iOS, Android, and Windows devices, so if you don’t have access to the feature right away, it’s coming soon as the company is rolling it out in stages.

WhatsApp also recently launched a short video message sharing feature on the platform. This feature is accessed by tapping the microphone icon, which is used to send voice messages. With a single tap, it turns into a video camera icon, which allows users to send video messages of up to 60 seconds long. It appears in chat in a circular fashion.
