WhatsApp may soon allow users to access two accounts from one phone. According to reports, the app was found to be testing the multi-account feature for Android phones. Usually, the social media platform releases an iOS version of the feature right after. WhatsApp has been rolling out new features to its user base, most notably adding high-definition photo and video sharing. Additionally, the app is said to be testing a new Android interface with a bottom menu bar similar to the iOS version.
WABetaInfo Report Indicating that more Android beta users are now able to use WhatsApp’s multi-account feature. Currently, the feature is available to WhatsApp beta users on Android 2.23.18.21 and is reportedly rolling out to other beta users. This beta release includes an improved application settings user interface.
In early June this year, WhatsApp was first spotted testing the multi-account feature. The feature enables users to run multiple WhatsApp accounts on one device. Therefore, WhatsApp settings will now allow users to access a second WhatsApp account on the same device.
In the next few weeks, the app will likely be upgraded to a stable version with multi-account functionality. Users with different numbers in different countries or regions, or users with multiple connections (such as work and personal use) may find this useful.
Currently, users must have the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android and a compatible Android device to use the multiple account feature.They can create a new account by selecting add account After activating the function, select the option in the settings menu. After that, they can enter the phone number for the new account and follow the prompts. This new account remains active on the device until they log out.
Each WhatsApp account has its own settings, chat history and notifications. Users can switch between accounts by selecting Account Changer in the settings menu.
