Cointelegraph video reporter and YouTube host Giovanni Pigni challenges ChatGPT to the cryptocurrency investing game. Both contenders have $100 to build a strong cryptocurrency portfolio and make as much money as possible in two weeks.
The purpose of the experiment is to find out whether AI can beat humans in cryptocurrency trading, and to find out the advantages and disadvantages of humans relative to AI investment methods.
To build the AI’s crypto portfolio, Giovanni trained it on summaries of major events that happened in the crypto space over the past two years. Given the bearish market conditions of the previous months, ChatGPT proposes a low-risk portfolio.
To build his portfolio, Giovanni relied on expert advice from Cointelegraph market analyst Marcel Pechman, who suggested a more aggressive but riskier approach.
Pechman recommends betting on high-beta decentralized finance tokens that were heavily impacted by the Curve Finance hack in July. The logic is that these coins have a good chance of rallying and outperforming larger-cap cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH).
