
After launching a paid subscription service for $8 (roughly Rs. 660) for blue verification badges on the Weibo site, X CEO Elon Musk has launched a new feature that hides blue ticks .
according to help page On the microblogging site, one of the features reads: “Hide your checkmarks: As a subscriber, you can choose to hide your checkmarks on your account. The checkmarks will be hidden on your profile and posts . The checkmark may still appear in some places, and some features may still show that you have an active subscription. Some features may not be available when your checkmark is hidden. We will continue to improve this feature to Make it work better for you.”
According to Mashable Reportfor Twitter Blue subscribers, you can see the “Hide Blue Checkmark” option in the Profile Customization page of your account settings.
Twitter first introduced the blue checkmark system in 2009 to help users identify celebrities, politicians, companies, brands, news organizations and other “public interest” accounts that are authentic, as opposed to imposters or parodies. The company had not previously charged verification fees.
Musk launched Twitter Blue with a checkmark badge as one of its premium perks within two weeks of acquiring the company last year.
On April 1, Twitter launched a paid subscription service, charging $8 for a blue verification badge on the microblogging site, and later removed the blue checkmark from verified accounts.
