Xiaomi Band 8 Pro Launch Set Alongside Mix Fold 3 on August 14, Teased to Feature 1.74-Inch 60Hz Display

The Mi Band 8 Pro will go official in China on August 14 alongside the Mi Mix Fold 3 and Mi Pad 6 Max. The new wearable is the successor to last year’s Mi Band 7 Pro. Ahead of the official launch, the Chinese brand is actively teasing the design and specifications of the wearable. It is confirmed to be equipped with a square display dial with a screen size of 1.74 inches. The device will support a variety of sports functions.

Xiaomi Smart Ecosystem, through its official Weibo account, Announce Mi Band 8 Pro will be available on August 14th. The launch event will begin at 7:00 pm local time (4:30 pm CST). The Mi Mix Fold 3 and Mi Pad 6 Max will also debut at the same event in China on August 14. The company revealed more details about the design and presentation of the wearable device via its social media platform.

The Mi Band 8 Pro is said to feature a square display, similar to the design language of the recent Apple Watch. It has different strap options and a black dial. It will feature a 1.74-inch display with a 60Hz refresh rate, a pixel density of 336ppi, and 16.7 million colors. That would be larger compared to the Mi Band 7 Pro’s 1.64-inch screen. Additionally, the upcoming wearable is said to support fitness features like heart rate monitoring and step counting. It will also allow users to play music directly on the watch.

The market positioning of Mi Band 8 Pro may be higher than Mi Band 8. The regular model was launched in April with a starting price of 239 yuan (approximately Rs. 2,800).

Mi Band 8 is equipped with a 1.62-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 192 x 490 pixels, a pixel density of 326 ppi, and a maximum brightness of 600nits. It supports more than 150 training modes, with SpO2 monitoring, heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, menstrual cycle tracking and other functions. It has a 5 ATM water resistance rating and packs a 190mAh battery.
