Xiaomi has announced that the company will soon phase out MIUI and introduce the new HyperOS in its upcoming Mi 14 series phones. As the Xiaomi Mi 14 series launch approaches, more details about the new operating system are expected to be revealed. The product line is likely to be released later this year and will succeed the Xiaomi Mi 13 series of phones launched in December 2022. The MIUI skin currently used on all Xiaomi phones and tablets has been around for nearly 13 years.
in a postal On September 15, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun confirmed that the company’s new operating system, Xiaomi HyperOS, will be launched with the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series. He didn’t reveal what the new operating system would look like or reveal any other details. We should know more about it as its release gets closer.
Recently, a whistleblower claimed that MIUI 14 will be the “last official major version” of MIUI. This now appears to be true. Earlier this year, it was reported that Xiaomi had registered the “mios.cn” domain and MiOS trademark. However, Xiaomi seems to call its operating system HyperOS rather than MiOS.
Meanwhile, the full spec list of the Xiaomi Mi 14 model was recently leaked, suggesting that the phone may come with a new operating system. The upcoming phone is said to be equipped with a 6.44-inch CSOT C8 OLED display with a resolution of 1.5K, a refresh rate of 120Hz, a peak brightness of 2,800 nits, and support for Dolby Vision. It is expected to be powered by the yet-to-be-released Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and may be paired with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
Like the Mi 13 models, the Mi 14 series is also said to come with Leica-branded cameras. Its triple rear camera unit is expected to include a 50-megapixel OV50H main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a second 50-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and another with a telephoto lens 50-megapixel sensor. According to the leak, the base model could be equipped with a 4,600mAh battery that supports 90W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging.
