Xiaomi Mix Fold 3, Slimmer Than Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, Launched: Details

The Mi Mix Fold 3, the company’s latest foldable, was launched today in China along with a host of other devices. The smartphone will be available in China starting August 16. However, a global release date for the foldable phone has yet to be announced. The Mi Mix Fold 3 is even thinner than its already thin predecessor, the Mix Fold 2. It is equipped with dual E6 OLED displays, the inner and outer screens measure 8.03 inches and 6.56 inches, respectively.

Xiaomi Mix Fold 3: Price, availability

The successor to the Mi Mix Fold 2, the latest foldable phone is available in two colors: Moon Shadow Black and Shining Star Gold. The Mi Mix Fold 3 price starts at CNY 8,999 (nearly Rs 1,03,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model. On the other hand, the 16GB RAM and 512GB model is priced at CNY 9,999 (nearly Rs 1,14,500), while the top-end model with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is priced at CNY 10,999 (nearly Rs 1,26,600).

Xiaomi Mix Fold 3: Specifications

Xiaomi’s latest foldable phone features a main 8.03-inch foldable E6 AMOLED LTPO display, and a 6.56-inch AMOLED cover display with FHD+ resolution. The Mi Mix Fold 3 is powered by an octa-core flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. It runs MIUI 14 based on Android 13. The foldable hinge supports hover opening from 45 degrees to 135 degrees.

On the back, the smartphone features a quad-camera unit that includes a 50MP Sony IMX 800 primary camera, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 10MP telephoto lens, and another 10MP periscope lens. The sensor is housed in a rectangular cutout with Leica branding and an LED flash. It has a 20-megapixel selfie camera on the front.

The Mi Mix Fold 3 is equipped with a 4800mAh battery that supports 67W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. Battery life is claimed to be 8 hours and 20 minutes. It houses a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. In terms of connectivity, the foldable device comes with a USB Type-C port and NFC support.

The smartphone is said to be slimmer than its predecessor, measuring 4.93mm thick when unfolded and increasing to 9.8mm when folded.
